I hope the show will be well rehearsed and that he doesn't walk on stage totally unbriefed as he does on his TV show

"Would rather burn the money than give it to that racist cunt "

Bit of a stretch there, even the complainant clearly mentions in the article that she does not believe he is racist, plus he used to live in Ethiopia and had done work in Sudan for charity.

Joke does seem to be in bad taste though

Big stretch imo....

Most comedians getting a tough time the last while.

It only takes one person to be offended and there's outrage

It’s not like this is anything new with him. He has also felt it acceptable to make a joke out of people who Down syndrome.

He’s a prick and I wouldn’t give him a cent. My personal view but I hope anyone going enjoys their night out.

They’d cancel comedy if they could nowadays too

I just don’t get why people or snowflakes go to comedy shows and walk away or even walk out of the show feeling disgusted..

What exactly do people want in comedy for the comedian to tell knock knock who’s there jokes or to be on edge of everything he says..

I never really rated him as a comedian. More of a shock jock in my opinion.

But appreciation of comedy is a very subjective thing and tastes vary greatly.

Couldn't have said it better.

Its a terrible thing to want to be offended by everything, what a sad pathetic way to look at the world.

Growing up as a kid in the 80s, every weakness or physical feature that was some how not nice was exploited but do most of us moan about it or feel victims of course not, except the odd few on a crusade to cancel everything.

Did you actually hear what he said about Downs Syndrome? Because I was at the show where he told that story and he most definitely did not make fun of down syndrome. He actually made fun of himself for not understanding what was said to him! Most people that got upset over it based their view on the report that someone walked out of the show because of that!

I think his comedy is a bit dated now and it's not really that funny, I know plenty of people like him with the same humour and wit only thing is they don't stand up on a stage and get paid a fortune for it, a shrewd man by all accounts

He's a legend .his sketch on the travelers calling him racist is classic.....there'll always be someone who gets offended when it comes to comedy...forget them ..Great lad to have a few pints with I'd say

He is honest and dosnt discriminate any groups when making jokes ... you think all people with down syndrome want to be treated so differently, that we make fun of our own different but won't include them ?

Inclusion works both directions ... thats a sign that Tommy dosnt see the difference in people your seeing

I used to find him funny and I guess all comedians go through phases, I still watch his older material sometimes and almost faint from laughing.

He is an intelligent man and he also knows how to play on words that will get people talking.

Comedians take the piss out of all walks of life. Black people, white people, Asians, Africans, fat people, skinny people, short people, rich people, poor people, gay people, straight people, blondes, bald people, the English, Americans etc etc. God even us Irish take the piss out of ourselves. I'd doubt there are many if any comedians that have a routine that doesn't court controversy of some sort. You more or less know what you are getting with them. And just because comedians say something I don't think they necessarily mean it or believe it themselves. They just know what brings the laughs and fills seats. That's what matters most for them.

There’s a reason why you’ve rarely been offended. Offensive jokes are rarely made at white males expense. His daughter told him the “joke” was racist. He got laughs from a white audience. Oddly enough.
