Hard to swallow

Paul Kimmage, Sunday Independent Sport interview with Graham Rowntree.

PK "I don't do headlines".

That's the bit that's hard to swallow. (Journalism 101...headlines sell newspapers).

Kimmage comes across as a total buffoon in a piece written by himself. But I suppose its nothing new as he has made his living doing this since finishing his career as a professional cyclists.

Has he finally given up on trying to sort out his old sport and now sees himself as the saviour of rugby.

"On yer bike Paul".

All the moaning is getting kinda tedious.

People might not like him, but he definitely has a point regarding the use of drugs in various sports.

Only the naive or those in complete denial think Rugby is anywhere remotely near a clean sport.

Rugby is riddled with drugs. But much like cycling and athletics. It's ultimately in the interest of the various sports bodies to try and cover it up.

I don't think he mentions drugs in the interview.

He does mention concussion and its longterm consequences.

My point was about his claim of not being a headline chaser.

Also his reference to GR being in Galway with his wife but the interview taking place in a Limerick hotel is a bit confusing. But maybe being a true blue he gets confused about cities other than Dublin....

I'll be honest, this thread ended up being about a wildly different topic than I'd anticipated

The topic title was meant to be "tongue in cheek" pun intended.

Kimmage is a click-baiting chancer!

He may claim it's always the Ed or sub Ed who pulls out a headline from the piece, but he was the controversy-chasing fool who served it up to them on a flashing platter!

Wow. Thanks for posting.

I was beginning to think I was the only one who thought he was a chance since he first started in "journalism"
