Probably fan belt or a tensioner. Get it checked to be on the safe side.

Honestly couldn't say without seeing it. But even if you can pop into a mechanic and get it looked at for peace of mind.

Like poster said its a loose fan belt, the belt itself could be stretching causing squeal, normally when a timing belt is replaced so is the serpentine belt so that could be the last time it was changed, if the squeal is very bad it's on the way out and will need attention asap

Is this the kind of fan belt problem where in a romantic movie, she arrives with her pantyhose to save the day?

Hope you get it sorted OP

my car knowledge would be limited....just ragi g if it was something that could be picked up 7 weeks ago why they didn't change it...I presume it was loose 7 weeks ago....no noise then however

I presume anywhere can do it....the car is 5 years old and still under warranty. I'm just a bit far from the garage and need to stay local this week

That'll be either the fan belt or it's tensioner.

They start to slip a little in the cold/damp weather and the rubbing on the sheaves squeaks. I wouldn't worry about it in the short run

Have you checked the rear seats for this squeaking noise?

I'd get it checked by any mechanic or even someone who knows a bit about cars. If it's under warranty it might have to be done by a main dealer or wherever you bought it. And be prepared to pay because fan belts and tensioners are service parts and most likely not covered by warranty. But shouldn't be expensive.

Do you not check your levels regularly? Every week or 2?

A little below minimum but still coolant visible? Or like.. no coolant and you had to top up liters?

If it's just a bit I wouldn't worry too much. If it's constantly dropping a cupfull every day or two them you probably have a small leak. I would then add a bottle of radweld

Next time you start it turn on the lights and don't no reving, see if it squeels more ... next rev it a lil . see if it squeels more or less..

If it squeals more under electrical load(lights) and less under power its likely your alternator.

No fan belts on most cars .. could be alternator/serpentine belt or associated pully... to check run engine and spray some wd40 over belt ... if it stops its belt related .

The fact it only happens on start up would indicate alternator. Imo
