Well it's not right for us, but I guess it's up to each individual to weigh up whether it works for them.

Compartmentalisation is the key to safeguarding each aspect of your life; a different phone number for each facet, and never the twain shall meet.

A dual sim phone is best; and strictly separate e-mail accounts are a must.

Somewhere in Co. Down

It's up to them really if they want to make it public. It may be a number they just use for fab or it could be someone else's number.Who knows, but it's not something I'd do or use if I saw it on here anyhow. But I'm sure anyone who has done it knows what they are doing and knows the risk if it is their main personal phone.

Never got the dual sim ?

There’s only one slot for a SIM card on a 12

A publicly available phone number can often be used as a honey-trap to see what type of individuals are inclined to call, and the types of messages they leave; many companies who have sophisticated cyber security systems in place, to combat a massive and escalating threat, use the honey-pot system, that is totally isolated from their core business system

The nutters, cranks and sabotagers are diverted into a useless cul-de-sac, where they can do no harm or damage; and the core system is preserved.

It's a useful safeguard.

I have a specific phone number, that is usually never on and is never answered, that I use for many different purposes; I can see who rang, but I never return the calls.

My personal phone number is treated like gold-dust!

Some new Nokia phones, in addition to having dual sims, have a phenomenally long battery life.

I rarely give my phone number to anyone, let alone reveal it on fab. What others do is up to them.

East / North, Cork

Quite a few have "playphones" that are only used for fun. No reason not to give that out

somewhere

I gave out my phone number to someone that then tried to blackm**l on here once

Learned my lesson and I certainly wouldn't post it publicly

It might be silly but only the person themselves can decide if it right or wrong

Had to change my number because of someone on here so now I have a second number I give out until I feel I can trust them.
