After COVID cold

So I've had COVID probably six months ago, generally I don't get too sick too often but over the past few days I've been feeling as bad as I did when I had COVID. I've tested negative but I was just wondering if others felt the same?

And no I don't think it's some conspiracy

Same here OP. Feeling shit for last 10 days but still covid clear. There's a bug going round according to my chemist.

Yep I was in bed with flu, worse flu ever infact when I had covid I was grand, more annoyed self isolating in my room and bored.

This flu floored me even after it getting infections in my ears and sinus, not out of the woods just yet, but feeling much better

I was vaccinated recently for both Covid and Flu, the boosters, but still managed to recently acquire a flu-type of viral infection; symptoms were headaches, aching and sore muscles, dry rasping cough, extreme coldness despite being wrapped up in bed with multiple bed spreads, two duvets and M&S thermals.

Mercifully, I am better this afternoon and I dread to think how I would feel if I hadn't had the covid and flu boosters!

I had covid in March and spent one afternoon in bed. Was grand.

Got the flu beginning of November and I've never been so sick. I'm on a preventative inhaler now.

From chatting to people i think covid has weakened our immune systems and anyone that gets a flu etc after it hits worse.

Never had covid but because others around me have I've been testing fairly regularly and never had a positive test but have been feeling like shit since Christmas Eve last year.

Zero energy, breathlessness and muscle pain. Gone from climbing 2 mountains a week to only 2 in an entire year.

Have been told it's long covid and on a waiting list to be seen but the estimate is at least a further year before that happens.

There seems to be a bad dose doing the rounds at the minute. Family members have had it and anyone I talk to in work is saying the same thing. Seemingly very hard to shake ever with a course of steroids.

Wrap up warm and plenty of hot tea, or else hot whiskeys

Most people had no cold or flu over the last 3 years, so your immune system might be a bit 'slow' in its defence.

There's a pletora of articles how covid can impact your immune system long after. However hard to say how it effects each individual.

Just go with the usual cold/flu remedies and try to boost your immune system with vitamin D and C and eat healthy.

I had that dose a few weeks ago. I tested negative but felt like I was dying for a few days. Just over a week later I felt great again.

I knew as a result of the test that I wasn't pregnant as well so that was nice.

McCarthy you theoretically should be through the menopause, so little chance of getting pregnant.

CMO, Chief Medical Officer states that Covid, or a variant of Covid is back with a vengeance with lots of unvaccinated people in hospital; also flu is back too.

Get vaccinated: recovery isuch more rapid if your immune system has been primed to respond.

Thank goodness so many clever and dedicated folks are working to keep us all fit and healthy and alive!
