Black Friday….

It’s that time of the year again when the bedlam starts & people will spend this weekend hunting for what they perceive to be a bargain/discount…

Anything in particular you’ll be in the market for at the reduced rate?

Not all it's cracked up to be. There are some good bargains but lots of price manipulation.

I went into a Craghoppers store yesterday and hiking trousers that have had a 60% off label for at least 2 years and were priced at £34.99 went up to £44.99 a couple of weeks ago and the black Friday bargain price is now £39.99.

I have been looking at laptops. Looks to be some decent bargains, but I am no expert so no idea on good makes or spec.

I just want it for home use and will need word, excel etc so nothing that expensive really.

Any advice would be great

Someone in a chat group told me a chemist shop in Donegal that has good deals on fragrances

Bought a bottle of aftershave on Monday for less than half of the normal price I usually pay and it was delivered Tuesday with 2 small bars of chocolate in the box .....win win

Looked at laptops yesterday, I think it's a total scam just to get you buying.

My experience: you think you found a great blackfriday deal, then you google same model to see it priced on other sites. And tada surprise surprise the item is similarly priced than your Black Friday deal. So where's the deal?

Can’t go wrong with a HP from my own experience. Drop into somewhere like PC world if you have one locally or even a Harvey Norman for deals today including the Microsoft office pack. Think I for a free hp printer with my laptop too last year

The Kingdom

Black Friday is really just a scam outside of America.

I have seen it year after year where some places up the price for their Black Friday deals, thinking that sticking on the label will shift items.

Although this year I was surprised I did see a printer down €5, first time I saw an actual Black Friday Deal.

Not sure what petrol was but diesel was reduced at all Go stations here yesterday to £1.55 and shut down a few towns as a result.

Top have reduced theirs to £1.45 today and Boucher Road is just a carpark.

There is nothing I need and being honest it feels as if I’m just spending money for the sake of it.
