No experience...my understanding is that this kind of relationship is based on gifts, money, travelling, mentorship (for a "younger" person with "less" means) in exchange for "dates" (with an "older" "wealthier" person).

Unless you have met the person in question and discussed "terms and conditions", or (s)he is willing to do so (without prior payment), likelihood is - if it's too good to be true, it probably is.

Lots of scam artists out there. Be careful
