Grieve a relationship

So I recently (yesterday) broke up from an 18 month relationship which has me grieving for lack of a better word .

It was mutual as we are looking for different things ie. (kids)

It was a very loving , sexual and caring relationship .

So My question is how long should one wait before dipping there toe back in the pool .

(Obviously everyone is different but I am curious to see what people think)

You will probably be quick to be back and itt will be fun but not fulfilling, and your partner will be slow and settle quicker if it is her that wants kids .

So have fun be responsible and respectfully, see you at the next M&G

According to your veries you managed to dip your toes during that 18 mths so I expect you'll be fine

Everyone is different, and the intensity of personal involvement with others varies too.

With some you can move on very rapidly; with others the recovery is more painful, and prolonged; sometimes leaving scars that will last a lifetime!

Therapists and most other relationahip experts say there is a five stage process of grieving and recovery.

I wouldn't be so hard on OP. There is no indication of what sort off a relationship he was in with this other person. Those assuming he was 'having his cake and eating it' could be entirely wrong. Each to their own opinion and that!

Anyways OP, relationships no matter for how long and who broke up with who are always difficult. Time is the only real healer.

The only person who can answer that is yourself. I'd imagine you you'll be fine if you are posting on here about finding a new partner the day after breaking up.

There is no time limit for grieving. Everyone is different. Do when you’re comfortable

It's all relative.

What type of relationship it was, what your looking to dip your toe back into exactly. How faithful you were in the original relationship etc....

By the sounds of it and from your veries and previous posts I'm guessing about 3 to 4 hours

Depends what you mean by dipping the toe, sexual encounters or a relationship?

The latter takes normally longer by nature, sex can be had straight away, although some may feel that's inappropriate. For both applies whenever you feel up/ready for it.

My recommendation would be to enjoy being single for a while before diving into the next relationship.

Op, i sympathise with you for the break up of your relationship.

Its not easy to loose someone that you love and dont mind some of the comments regarding having your cake and eating elsewhere .

Take your time, theres no hurry unless your a complete horndog.

I recently broke up with someone and yes ill have a laugh and joke here, but im in no rush to meet anyone until im mentally ready.

Not saying that im mental

Best regard Op

Take your time with the grief before looking for a another relationship, no-one wants to be a rebound or band-aid.

Give yourself processing and reflection time and you will be emotionally healthier and wiser for it.

Maths was never my good point.

If your that heartbroken and grieving I'm sure someone will console you here but others won't.

How about take a break from here and get your head sorted or just get the ride as they day only way to get over one girl is under another.

Thank you all for the advice , it is much appreciated.

Tbh I'm fairly shy (awkward quiet) so I haven't many to talk to about how I am feeling so thought I'd post here ..

Possibly not the place for it but I do appreciate the feedback from everyone.

Thanks

Going to take some time to reflect and try enjoy being single

He was kinda giving the impression it was pretty close to a perfect relationship.

He was also looking for someone to suck his dick his lunchbreak 2 weeks ago.

So forgive my bitchiness but the heartbreak seems a little false to me

Ok I’ll offer you some sympathy, I believe you probably do miss your ex already, but I’d like to ask you kindly to grieve responsibly and consciously, and for heaven’s sake do not disturb her grievance. Because that mental game of on again off again, doesn’t help to move on. I’m guessing she wants a family and you don’t. Let her do her thing. Don’t be going to her ‘oh I miss you so much’, ‘ I love you, but….’ When you are not genuinely interested.

You’ve been doing your business on here and you are just looking for validation and approval for your desire of meeting other women straight away after a break up and don’t feel guilty for doing so.

Do whatever you want but let her be.

Assuming you don’t want to jump into another relationship so soon, for some people, sex can be just sex if that’s what you. And that’s ok with me.

It all depends, my last relationship we both knew the best thing for all concerned was to finish, it was a relief once we broke up.... I've had relationships where I was heartbroken and needed the time and space to grieve it.
