I've been to Budapest, Vienna and bratislava. Bratislava was best in my opinion. You can do there and Vienna in one trip because they're so close.

Heading to Budapest this year. There was a write up last week in the independent I think about markets and it’s come out top of the list. Flights and accommodation were very reasonable but we did book them in the summer.

You won’t be disappointed, have been to a good few all around Europe and Budapest was among my favourite.

Dublin

Lots of beautiful markets in Germany - Cologne, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Munich, Hamburg, Stuttgart, Dortmund etc... also been to Brussels, Prague, Vienna and Zurich.

I don't think you'll go wrong wherever you head to on the mainland . Enjoy Mrs

A town near you

What does one xmas market do that others don't.

Any I've been to just sell decorations, hot chocolate and local foodstuffs

Cork

Previously visited Munich, Tallin and Krakow around Christmas time.

Beautiful spots at this time of year. Very different but wonderful atmosphere.

This year I'll visit two cities. Budapest and then hop on the train to Vienna. Previously only one city per trip so two this year I'll be spoiling myself

It's hard not to like a unexplored village/ town/ city at Christmas
