Far far away

Anyone same as me and hate this time of year. Every year I dread the hour change, the dark mornings and dark evenings.. I know about SAD but curious anyone else emphatise with me.. Or do you love it...

Completely agree with you. Every evening that gets slightly darker that little bit earlier, it's like it drains an equal amount of energy from me each evening.... when you leave for work and it's dark and return when it's dark, sometimes you wonder if you will ever experience the brightness again during this dark and depressing period...

I must be weird cos I love it.

Dark evenings and miserable weather are the perfect excuses to stay hibernating at home!

I love the dark evenings. Myself and himself get all wrapped up and head for dunmore or tramore for a walk. Then back and cuddle up with a nice cuppa blanket and watch tele

I don't mind the darker evenings. They can be nice and cosy when you have the fire lit and just relaxing .

I hate getting up when it's dark in the mornings though. It just always feels wrong

Yeah was just gonna say, you can definitely focus on the cosy side of it which is lovely.

But I agree I also find it a little bit meloncoly when it's dark, wet & cold but I always mind myself by getting out for a run earlier in the day and top up on my vitamins during the winter months. Hope that helps!

I hear you glow in the dark

In future,I must look out for the fast flashing light in the park and ride carpark, like morse code on speed, signaling that you are having a great time

Not a fan of Irish winter, but it's not the dark that gets me, it's the wet cold, just yuk!

And I do wonder if we ever get rid of that mindf*@%¥ng winter-summer-hour-bs.

Dark days and the rain, holiday booked for January only thing to get me through the winter.

Suffer with SADs so no motivation to go out if dark cold and wet. But believe it or not i had a dog rain or sunshine we went walking.

Sunday treat to local indoor Market for a gander and coffee. Dog got sausages and insisted that i drink my coffee faster so could see the rest of the market.

Maybe it a matter of how you embrace the winter or where you live

There is nothing like a walk on a windy deserted beach and going to a nearby pub for a hot drink, a night in front of the tv just chilling and chatting

I love the long days of a warm sunny summer, but also love cuddling up on the couch in front of a warm turf fire with some good shows on the tv hearing the rain beating off the windows!

I find it so hard to get motivated this time of year. I can totally appreciate the cosy evenings in and the quieter beaches, but lack of sunlight definitely messes with me.

I can understand that. I’m out in the weather everyday working so to get indoors have a hot shower and relax definitely feels good
