Yep, grew up in a haunted house. Only ever had the creepy feelings of something being amiss/off but some family members have numerous experiences and encounters.

One of those family members told me when I had the feeling someone's there, to talk to them politely and ask them to leave me be while I was using the room.

Felt kinda stupid talking to thin air but I was able to sleep with the lights out that particular night

Bit of a long post but here goes, I used to work in a large factory that had a large dark platform were our electrics we’re kept that looked over the factory floor. On many times you would turn your head to look at something and out of the corner of your eye you would catch a large dark figure standing in the shadowy part of the platform but when you looked directly at it it was gone. I always put this down to my mind playing tricks until another employee seen me do a double take at it and told me they see it regurarly to, even sitting here now I have goose bumps. The whole factory was built aprox 50 years ago and various people have lost there lives during the construction or many other busnusees that were in there before the people I worked for.

Another time in the same factory would be the time one of the heavy steel doors moved violently by its self open and closed 5 times really quickly, there was 100 other different I experiences I could write a book about that place

35 years ago I was installing equipment in an iconic city centre bar in Belfast and the assistant manager was helping me carry it upstairs.

Halfway up he screamed in a high pitched voice, dropped his end of the box and ran off leaving me stranded and struggling to hold on to the equipment.

The manager arrived and helped me the rest of the way and when I told him what happened he went white as a sheet and went off to find his mate who was cowering in a cubicle in the gents.

Apparently as we were going up the stairs a woman in a a white dress had walked out of the wall to our right, passed between us and the box we were carrying and vanished through the opposite wall.

I hadn't seen a thing but the manager said it wasn't the first time she had been seen and he believed his colleague.

I saw an article in the Belfast Telegraph years later with people discussing their ghostly experiences in the same bar.

I grew up in a creepy old house that was reputedly haunted by a previous resident who had been "seen" by numerous people.

I never saw her though as she had died sixty years before I was born and ghosts aren't real.

This house has a lot of weird goings on alright and the kids have mentioned seeing things from when they were very small.

I was talking to a neighbour about it and same things/sightings have happened in their house too, so reckon its connected to the land they are built on.

Often see figures watching us from the corner of your eye, or sound of things being thrown and lights flickering.

Its home though, so we just all get along

The only thing I've witnessed was in a hostel in Wicklow in 1979 on a school trip.

All 20 of us could see a red light hovering about 100ft in the air but it was completely silent. We thought it was a warning light on a mast but it then dropped down to about 20ft off the ground and back up again much higher before taking off out to sea at lightening speed from a standing start.

Next morning we told the family running the hostel and they went and checked the field where we had seen it and said the grass was flattened right in the centre but nothing else. It wasn't a crop circle, just a patch about 5 or 6 feet wide that had been affected.

Something was up with my childhood home. Doors used to open by themselves, tv in my room used to turn itself on. When i got my dog in my teens he used to growl constantly at a corner of the sitting room and at the top of the stairs. Always had the feeling that was never alone but never anything malicious

I'm more on the side of a sceptic when it comes to this topic, but a confused sceptic.

11.5 years ago, I woke up and seen a vision of a close relative standing at the end of my bed.

They didn't say anything and just stood there for about 15-20 seconds and then seemed to vanish. They looked as real as you or me but they were strangely clearly visible in a pitch dark room. I was confused, scared and convinced myself that I must have been in some sort of half dream like state of mind.

A few hours later I was notifed, that very relative had died in a car incident in the early hours of that morning at a similar time that I had the expierence.

I'm not sure if it falls into the paranormal category but not something I could ever easily explain or likely to ever forget.

Being slightly spiritual, my feeling is that anything that scares you (that you assume is paranormal) is actually in your own mind. If something exists beyond this world then it is not to be feared and will not harm you.

Some great stories there guys …. A few different thing have happens to me as well … was out night fishing one night till like 2 am … walked past a fella in the field .. just said hello as I thought he was fishing as well .. turned around 2 secs after passing him and he was no where to be seen at all … another time our bed started shaking …. Not violently like the exorcist lol but definitely shaking enough to scare us … never happened again since !

I had something very similar. I heard about a spiritual reader in nenagh and went to see her. mind blowing how much I found out. she could not have possibly known what she told me. sorry for your loss. I hope they are at peace.

I don't know if you missed the first bit of my last post?

If it was a real paranormal power then Derren Brown wouldn't be able to fake it. If he can fake it effectively then it's worth very little.

Also, even if it could be proven that something that doesn't exist doesn't exist, it would still be more amusing to think of grown adults going around believing in fairytales
