Tragedy in Donegal

Having heard the news yesterday afternoon and the unfolding events in the sleepy yet beautiful village of Creeslough. I thought id start a thread wishing all those families involved our sincerest sympathies thoughts prayers or whatever background your are from. My heart goes out to them, having suffered loss in my past, I can attest to the heartache and pain they must be going through. xxx

Actually blowing my mind the lack of responses here maybe just shows what people are really like and what’s important

Well said op, to lose a loved one in such a tragic way is one of the hardest things a person will face in their lifetime. My thoughts are with all those affected

It tragic In any circumstances but the extent where it’s impacted such a small community so deeply. One minute I imagine folk laughing and enjoying the craic as folk do in wee country shops the next devastation

Newry Down

The accidental release of any gas manufactured from fossil fuel that is then ignited by an electrical spark is evidenced in this incomprehensible tragedy.

In an instant the lives of many families have been destroyed forever .

Decades ago, I came within a whisker of being killed in a gas explosion in a domestic house where coal gas, that used to be made in most major towns by baking coal, was released into a sitting room when an old lead pipe was holed and gas then accumulated.

Coal gas had a very strong pungent smell, but most modern gases do not and an odour has to be added to them in the manufacturing process.

Can you imagine a home, after having heard the massive explosion, that is then visited by the Gardai to convey the awful news.

I have spoken to policemen who have had to do this!

I’m sure the families and bereaved aren’t scrolling through fab forums looking for sympathy .

So stop talking bullshit

I don’t expect they will be but does that mean we don’t acknowledge their hurt and loss and our thoughts/prayers for them

Actually reminds me of few years back I was living in an apartment and was getting terrible headaches for 5 months, I got my gas boiler serviced and the guy let rip at me telling me I had a bad gas leak in my apartment and all it would take is a flame such as lighting a cigarette or putting a toaster on and the whole place would have blown up. Guess I had a lucky escape

I agree with this .

I would also add . Yes I'm very sorry for all involved.

However I don't think a sex site is an appropriate place for this

I understand you may feel its good to talk, express condolences etc. Yet it may very well be seen as bad taste to post on such a site , especially by those close

No it doesn't, tbh when the thread started I wasn't sure whether to post on it, its a swingers site , not sure if it's the right place for it.

The more I read of this story the sadder I get. Families all doing the usual stuff getting a ice-cream before a sleepover or getting a birthday cake for their Mum. I admire so much the people that came from miles around to help the emergency services.

A bizzare and distasteful original post made even worse by your follow up. I would wager the families of teenagers and children that have been killed would not care much for your "condolences". There is a time and place for everything, if you know someone that was killed in this tragedy then maybe post your condolences on rip.ie or maybe donate to a gofundme that has been set up for the victims families.

Just like to point out... as I've said above i don't think this site is appropriate for this post , however I think this poster was trying to say they were taken back by how few replys of support and condolences this post had received. Given that this poster thought this to be an appropriate place for this tread , then its understandable he was taken back by the lack of support as he precieved it .

Just saying , he tought people didn't care by not supporting tread, looks like he didn't realize people didn't support the posting of the tread on fab .

Its just a mistake !

It’s an awful tragedy. Sick to the stomach thinking about it and the families devastation, it is heartbreaking

But a sex site is not the forum to be talking about it and OP, you should know better.

Not your fault, mods and fab owners should have the cop on to ban this stuff (I know you mean well OP and it’s not as if you’ve harmed anyone).

As far as I’m concerned, Fab is no place for politics/religion/serious current affairs. End of. Plenty of other sites where you can get things like that off your chest/discuss and debate.

I disagree. How boring would it be if people were only allowed to discuss sex?

Plenty of topics on here I've no interest in or don't discuss but this isn't one of them.

You don't have to talk about it here at all if you don't want to.

It's a major event though and it's obviously going to be talked about. I see nothing wrong with people talking about any of the things that effect them once it's done respectfully.

Only so much can be talked about to be fair when it comes to sex.

Just my opinion and exactly, you don’t have to agree with it and again, that’s fair enough

I disagree, no harm posting about it here.

Sane with the threads about mental health or even the good morning threads people give out but way I see it, here maybe the only connection some have and if its doing no harm leave people be.
