Which is better,?

The original song or the cover versions.

Personally I think a lot of covers are way better.

Lucan

It depends on both your taste, possibly your age and the song itself. It's not a question that can be answered with either A or B.

My own two preferred covers, or at least the two that I can think of at the moment, are Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah and Aha's Crying in the rain. I'm sure there are plenty others too that I'll think of later.

I really like covers of songs done in the style of the band/singers covering it, All Twins cover of Justin Beiber is class!

"Johnny Cash's cover of the Nine Inch Nails song "Hurt" "

Came here to say this. Love both versions but Cash's is haunting.

Disturbed's version of Sound of Silence is fantastic as well.

i travel all over

There are many covers I prefer

Cher I hope you find it

Jeff Buckley

Psb always on my mind

Valerie Amy Winehouse

Jealous guy Bryan ferry

There are covers I don’t mind like light my fire will young . No one will touch the doors but it’s good.

Then there are covers that are lauded but not as good. I will always love you and dancing on my own were best left alone

Don’t get me started on under the bridge

There are some songs that should never be touched ,a certain Irish manufactured band has done nothing but covers of others well known songs and personally l think there should be a law against such but there ya go.In the movie world original films should never be touched , well l think that way anyway.

Generally the original is better, but there are a surprisingly high number of superior covers. Nothing Compares 2 U by Sinead OConnor (original by Prince) for example
