Apparently an upside down pineapple is a sign you're open to swinging. It may have started on cruises. Now there are loads of Tiktoks of people putting them in their shopping trolleys.

So has anyone ever heard of this before? And what would be a good Irish version?

I've heard an upside down wheelbarrow sends out the sane signal.

I can confirm that it's true because I have two of them in the back of my truck as we speak.

Surely a wheelbarrow right way up is the more risqué option on the back of a moving van

That's more risky than risqué if you ask me. I've seen them take flight in the past.

I did hear of a story where a girl had a tattoo of a pineapple on her arm, and when she posted a picture of herself to social media, the way she was holding her arm, the pineapple was upside down, and she started getting a LOT of unwanted attention. Turned out the upside down pineapple was why.

Is a pineapple upside down cake a symbol of something?

I guess an upside down potato would be an Irish version, but how do you know a potato is upside down?

That reminds me of the lad from home who was watching the Spanish lothario on the beach and was jealous of all the attention he was getting, whereas none of the women were interested in him.

He asked the Spanish lad for advice and was told that sticking the biggest potato he could find down his swimming shorts would help and that the ladies would be flocking to him.

The next day the women were actually running away from him so he went back to the Spaniard to see what was wrong.

"oh", says yer man, "I meant you to put it down the front of your shorts!"
