I've back issues atm and was told to get acupuncture for it as sopposed to be amazing. Me and needles don't go together despite having lots of tattoos. But apart from that like the other kinds of healing I've no clue what or if they work

I've had reiki done, had acupuncture done, dod 4 sessions of acupuncture and it definitely helped. There treatments that help you feel better but as for healing you need to be the healing work yourself too.

Sometimes just taking that time out for yourself can be enough.

I've gone for a thai hot oil full body massage twice in the last month and have booked fir next week and its absolute bliss

Have done a few courses in reiki and found it helps relieve IBS in myself and the occasional migraine too so can vouch for it based on my own experience and of friends. People might believe /think/ say it's a "scam" "racket" etc but myself, I've never charged and just do it with friends...

Great to see you're trying new things Op

I have - but never paid for it as I have a family member with a gift. Not only have I felt his work first hand, treating repetitive strain injuries for me with very simple touch and headaches remotely for me. He's treated my dog after he fell down the stairs. He's treated his own dog after having been run over. I've seen him treat his own injuries and take on other people's injuries. It's quite incredible and rather unbelievable. If I hadn't have seen some of these things first hand, I'd say it's lies...

I doubt I'd ever seek out a "healer" because there are too many scam artists out there.

But then I would consider myself to be relatively spiritual and I believe that the people we meet in life bring a form of healing as do our experiences...that's more about your attitude to life.

Hang on... your dog fell down the stairs and you called a family member who fixed it remotely on the phone. You DO realise how completely insane that sounds?

There are many idiots out the purporting to have "the cure" what's more bizarre is even greater idiots believe in this nonsense, it usually involves a person going to the home of the so called healer whereupon he/she performs some bizarre ritual in the hope it will cure whatever ailment or condition the person has, no payment is exchanged that's not how this "cure" works aparrently, It doesn't work at all.

I was considering going to a healer or try alternatives to surgery for my back but I was very sceptical too. Maybe if I knew first hand about them or knew someone that tried it, I would consider it. Do they really fix the problem or just postpone it. As for acupuncture I have tried it in the past and seemed to be good but not long term. So I am actually going for back surgery in a few weeks.

Anything to do with your back you'd want to be taking it very serious. I had surgery on my lower back two years ago in the Hermitage Clinic. At the time I just thought it was sciatica but I was wrong!

Let the professionals decide

Where in that particular sentence about him treating my dog does it say he did it remotely?

Have you tried a chiropractor? Over the last 20-25 yrs, I've visited 3 different ones. And each of them sorted me out...

Good luck I know a few people who have had ops on their lower discs, 1 a guy who was pretty much bed ridden for months after because the doctor said in the long term it would ensure the symptoms won't return, it worked very well for him no more sciatica, i know a woman who had a similar op she had relief for a year afterwards then the crippling pain came back again so she's back to square 1 now dosed with pain killers, I wish you luck

A lot of back problems are caused by weak muscles. I'd always recommend something looks at a find they could have potentially weak muscles in the core, lower back and upper leg area and to start strengthening those areas before going the road of surgery or acupuncture.

I agree with seeing 'medical professionals', but they are not always ble to diagnose the problem.

My ex fell of her horse and landed arse first on a not quite buried rock, she could not walk far or without limping afterwards and was in constant pain whenever she did. 3.5 yrs later after visiting multiple specialists, some several times and looking for more second opinions than I can remember, she was told there was nothing physically wrong with her. Luckily a friend of a friend asked if she'd visited a particular chiropractor. 40 ish mins after hobbling in for her initial consultation, she walked out pain free and no limp. She'd apparently pinched the sciatic nerve when she landed.

There are people who claim to have the so-called 'cure' for particular conditions or illnesses, which I am sceptical about, especially those that expect a donation, or charge a fee; but for those who believe there is probably a placebo effect, which is purely psychological of course, but if they feel better for the experience, there is no real harm done.

Homeopathy, crystals, etc is without any foundation.

There used to be a guy called Gallagher who held laying on of hands at sessions in hotels around Ireland, but I haven't heard any mention of him for decades. He made a fortune from vulnerable people.

James Randi exposed a lot of these types in the U S.

Thats a secret Northern Ireland

I am a big believer in cures and healers. However those who do it for payment I don’t agree with. A family member has a cure and has been curing people for years, she takes no payment as she believes cure won’t work. Some people give a donation to charity while others might bring the likes of a box of chocolates as a thank you. Each to their own, but if it gives the person any sort of ease or peace of mine then why not.

My 8 yr old grandson had a lot of warts pn both hands . I meant covered in them he was vert conscious of themmust have been 20 on each hand

Tried everything medical . Got in contact with guy in dunboyne . Went out . .. he took a few small coins . 2cent ones out of a jar full of them . They looked old . He rubbed them all over the warts . Gave them to grandson and told him to stop on way home go into field and throw them in long grass and to try to forget about and stop worrying about the warts and if they will go . Did as told . Nothing happened for a few weeks then out of the blue they all started to disappear . Now 2 months later not a wart to be seen . Ps . Ask how much . Was told no charge .if we wan give something to a charity of our choice . It is a cure from his grandmother..

I worked in the isle of man in the mid 80s ,it was winter time and I had a sore knee which kept me limping I pain ,won't say agony but definitely. Uncomfortable. There was a man from East Belfast a died in the Wool Orangeman and militant loyalist . He was also the best bricklayer I have ever met ,he was so knowledgeable and experienced in brickwork and the trade . However he pulled me aside oneday and asked me what was up with my knee ! Basically he got me to lower my strides . He passed his hands around my knee. Never once touched my skin. I could feel a lovely warm tingle and after he withdrew the pain was gone ,and the swelling went down . I spent a whole winter in Port Erin ,lashing rai every day ,cold winds blowing never once had trouble with my knee .

I occasionally get the same pain and swelling back , it's not totally cured ,but it's a rare occurrence and never last long .

So I know from personal experience that some people have a gift , all that been said ,most so called l healers are without a doubt. Charlatans

There is nothing mystic or miraculous about this one....

Copper Oxide (from something that is 100% copper, like a penny) can cure some types of warts.

There are skincare products which contain Copper Peptides too.

If it's warts that need to be got rid of the white sap/juices from the stem of a dandelion flower works-my grandmother used to put it on my hands when I was a kid and it got rid of them..
