Well until a few days ago those same 14 nations worldwide had a 96 year old woman as Head of State so unsure what it is that you don't get. The line of succession has been pretty clear for some time

East / North, Cork

The more interesting question for me is whether these 14 countries are going to fully accept this transition, or are any going to look for a way out. I suspect changes are ahead.

Theres a good few countries have had referendums to become a republic from the commomwealth, so that's the way out of they choose to. Canada, Australia and new zeland would be the last 3 'bigger' countries still in it to my knowledge.

Australia had a referendum and 55% voted to retain the monarchy as head of State. Although that vote also included a non publiclly elected head of state as opposed to an election. Some of the Caribbean countries are in the process of becoming full republics.

I really don't get how any independent country would want the unelected leader of that family as their colonial head of State.

Especially in the countries that the monarchy done so much damage and plundered so much of their wealth.

I have absolutely no problem with the British people wishing to retain the monarchy as their head of State is their right.(and none of my business)

But scratch my head why others would want the same

I wish we had a head of state like the Finnish prime minister. She is cool.

He may be head of state but there is no power to go with it. He just minds all their jewels
