A role model is a person who serves as an positive example by influencing others and can be a well known personality, a parent, teacher, etc...

So, I've two questions for you...

- Who was your role model growing up and why?

- What well known personality do you most respect today and why?

My role model is my mother she showed me that no matter how tough things got it always works out in the end and to always have compassion for people....my celebrity would be Keanu reeves...he is just such a humble and considerate Human..

My parents.

Why should I respect any well known personality - I don't know them in person and know nothing of what goes on in their real lives bar what the media reports on and God only knows how much of that is true...

Positive, memorable role models were absent from my life, so throughout my life I have paddled my own canoe and did not emulate the attitudes and actions of others; an outlet that others occasionally tried to crush.

I am a unique person, as everyone else is too; I cannot and would not mimic any other person.

My life circumstances have been unique and my combination of genes, my phenotype is also unique.

My dad until he passed away when I was still very young and then I had to assume his role.

Public figures and celebs or personalities have zero effect on how I choose to lead my life.

My parents for sure were and are role models. In terms of celebrities; nobody is perfect. Roy Keane would be a bit of a role model but I'm well aware of his flaws

I think fiction is probably a bigger source of role models for me, The Doctor springs to mind, especially Capaldi's iteration.

Hurling coach taught me to keep going even when things look bleak. And we lost a fuck tonne of matches for years. Same fella loved the bottle so possibly not the best role model

I actually didn't have any role models growing up but I did look up to a few relative's that would be the opposite of a role model!!! I didn't turn out too bad but it took me a while to cop on!!

Growing up my dad was my hero and role model. I was only 15 when he died but he had already laid out the foundation for me. His brother took over and taught me so much and helped me build on that rock solid foundation. I’m still walking in my dads footsteps now and immensely proud of him.

In terms of a celebrity that I might look up to, that’s a much more difficult thing to do. There are some who do things for the right reasons and without any fanfare. Steve Buschemi the actor was once a New York firefighter, on 9/11 he went back to his old firehouse, grabbed a set of turnout gear and headed to Ground Zero to dig for his former colleagues. He told nobody. He did it because it was right.
