So I’m planning to include Ireland on my travel itinerary (I’m going digital nomad from next month). What beautiful but budget friendly places would you recommend. I’d be planning to stay a couple of months.

Hard to stay within budget in Ireland atm due to a huge shortage in accommodation..but, if you use ‘air’ you can find value in slightly quirky places off the beaten track. Dublin is great craic but really hard to find reasonable prices. Try a visit to Waterford to see the Murals, Cork great place yo visit, then look at less touristy places in the Wild Atlantic way to get a taste of the ‘West’

There’s plenty to see, Donegal is just lovely

if your planning on coming to Ireland on a budget I would definitely Reconsider going somewhere else as ireland is long gone by it budget days unfortunately

Galway/Dublin/London

If you're looking for beauty you need to be thinking West (Galway,Clare, Donegal) & Kerry!

But as pointed out accommodation is nuts almost anywhere unless you go quite off the beaten track.. clare might be best for price and then also being near a few city hubs like Galway & Limerick.

But it depends on your own personal understanding of "Budget" as its relative.

In terms of general everyday qualities such as culture/kindness/helpfulness and experiencing authentic Ireland.. i would also recomend these places..

However, if you prefer the fast paced, all options available and club/dial a meet lifestyle of a city, then like Dublin or maybe Cork.. but you'll be putting your hand in your pocket alot!

It kind of depends on your own personal preferences and what you desire!

You should try to include Belfast and the Ards peninsula on your itinerary.

Take a tour of the Peace Walls in Belfast to see the elaborate and costly measures needed to keep communities apart.

The Walls of Derry city are very impressive and worth walking around.

Regrettably Ireland, in terms of accommodation is exorbitantly expensive, but budget options do exist.

Are you planning any meets whilst in Ireland?

Not sure what Digital Nomad means.

You could try the youth hostels for the budget conscious and a guy in work recently told me he stayed in a family room in one and it was perfect.

Yep definitely would like to do meets. I’m told I’d do well there as there’s not an abundance of black/mixed race women there plus I’m a sucker for the accent

Having lived and worked in all three jurisdictions: England, N Ireland and the republic, you will find life here, from a swinging perspective very different

Very few if any clubs (one in Dublin) so meets will be socials or i. hotels, or in homes, if you make the right connections.

If its peace and quiet you want the west coast is stunning and meets will travel to you we are nice like that

Ifs it a faster pace of life you want limerick and galway are good but most club nights which are once or twice a month are in the bigger cities Dublin/cork/ belfast however id expect ud be welcomed with open arms at any party in any location u decide

Air bnb should be reasonable in places that are reliant on tourist season trade. Don't eat out, it's a rip-off, buy everything in Lidl or Aldi. Right now the pound is pretty weak so you won't get much bang for your buck, stick to NI.

Ireland is such a beautiful, relaxed friendly country. A few months here and you wont want to leave OP! And its not huge, if you base yourself centrally most places will be within a 3 hour drive.

For cities; Derry, Galway and Cork are my favourites.

Scenery: Co.Clare, Kerry and Cork.

Accomodation is veerrry scarce. Id say your best bet is a long let airbnb.

Agree with this. The cities are nice to visit but very expensive to stay, particularly with all the events on recently. So maybe think of somewhere not so touristy and day trips from there.

If you need a tour guide I’m sure you have a lot of volunteers, including myself!

Ignore all the naysayers here, you’re visiting at the perfect time. Hotels empty out for low season (Oct - March) , a simple phone call will get you a decent discount for a weeks stay. Depending on how much time you have & this time of year, my itinerary would be as follows. Dublin, Drogheda, Belfast, Portrush, Derry, Donegal, Westport, Galway, Doolin/Lahinch, Limerick, Killarney, Kenmare, Cork - Dublin. Inbox me for details

Hotel prices are indeed, a bit crazy atm but there is definitely deals to be got

As someone said, riging hotels direct usually gets a better price, especially during 'off season'

In terms if where to visit...make sure to check out the South East on your travels and the wild Atlantic way trail. Scenes are unbelievable

Go to the west of Ireland, you will find affordable accommodation there , avoid Dublin if you want to save money , you can stay in places like Drogheda nd travel down to Dublin, if your into the outdoors there are lots of places to go nd most are free , enjoy

Well, here is a suggestion. Wait until the summer holidays when Uni kids go back home. Around June - September time, you could find rooms advertised for short term at reasonable prices (€55 - €100 per week depending on the city location.

If you pick a rather central city like Limerick or Athlone, you would practically be 1-2 hours bus ride from all major cities. A day or two Car rentals can offer a reasonable option to move around a bit to further afield.

Also while you are here, some networking and connections on fab or elsewhere, could provide some opportunities to get a lift from a local fabber to and from events they might be going to.

Sorry if not very helpful, but all what is mentioned above about accommodation and hotel prices is true for the majority of the year.
