Who's on a night shift?

What do you do? (Without giving to much detail)

How do you kill the time when it's quiet?

I work nights in a data centre in Dublin. There's usually a minimum of 4 of us and we have a bit of craic. And of course the usual Netflix and fabbing kills the time

And not to forget everyone else...

If you're not working what has you up this late?

it'd be class if they were attractive though... what a cool way to spend a nightshift! I've heard of some very sexy goings on in certain night jobs

I can concur with that. I've had some shenanigans on a few sites I worked.

There's 2 fit women working with us but a bit too fond of themselves to have a bit of craic.

I work nights. It has been great for the sex life as I am able to slip away for hours if I need to.

I used to work a night shift and what I usually did was wonder who my ex was sleeping with as I worked.

Funny you should mention that. It's exactly what my ex was doing when I was working.

Somewhere in Co. Down

I've done nights quite a few times and I hate them, not the work but the lack of being able to sleep durning the day. A few weeks of nights every now and then is more than enough for me and I think fair play to anyone who does them all the time,I know I couldn't.

Once you get into a routine they're not bad. I've been doing them for years.

It's changing for nights to days and back that can be a hard one.

Did nights when I worked in both a hospital and post sorting office.

Premium pay - yes. But really messes with your body clock and health, however I could study for my degree during night shift, so that was a bonus

However never again.

Just so everyone is aware...it is not me he is referring to, it is his previous ex.

Work in a hospital and every 10 days or so have to do a 24hr shift working by myself. Would get next day off but then back to work the following day. Is really difficult having a good sleep pattern never mind trying to have a work-life balance. The older I am getting longer it is taking to recover.

Newry Down

When I graduated several decades ago, I resolved that I would never do any night shiftwork, no matter how dire my personal economic circumstances; I am physiologically unsuited to nightshift work because I have always been, by nature, a lark: up at the crack of dawn, fresh as a daisy, brimming with energy and driving everyone around insane with my 'Greg Wallace' type of enthusiasm.

By 9pm each night, U am in bed, and by 10 I am out for the count.

Some people are nightowls, who love shift work and others, like me, are larks

C'est la vie!
