Is it normal to want my wife to go elsewhere for sex. The more I think of it the more I want it to happen to the point where it is almost a turn on. I keep dropping hints to her but she’s not up for it “yet”.

That's called 'hotwifing'. Lots of couples here are into it. Give her time, if she's considering it, then that's a good sign.

Like others have said just have an open conversation with her but 1 thing you said that makes me think it could be a bad idea, the part you said "it's almost a turn on"

Just remember 1 thing, if it happens and she does go off with someone else there is no going back

We’ve been the same. Talking is a huge part and been completely open and honest with each other.

We recently took the plunge and the experience has been amazing and we feel as if the whole lifestyle has brought us closer together.

What we’ve learned from Our but of experience,
