Who is nearby? Well if you're in Mallow not me but for some strange reason Fab thinks I am.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with their Fab location.

Took a number of tries to update from a previous location when I first logged in yesterday afternoon.

I kept switching about between the general "who's near" to adjusting it to "matching my preferences" on who's near. It eventually worked for me

We’ve had an issue with this sometimes. A few years ago while visiting Belfast we set that as our location. Upon returning to Dublin we reset it to there. For some reason though fab still thinks we are in Belfast for some people viewing us.

Have never been able to figure out how to reset it and at this stage have given up.

I've never used it but it seems to be fairly accurate because a couple contacted me through it during one of the lockdowns and we had a conversation on the street.

It does state that it doesn't give exact locations, I for one have no desire to be stalked by my neighbours in the very rural area where I live. We only use it to eliminate people who live too close

Theres a couple here thats 20 miles away from me, but if you look at their profile it shows that they are 330+ miles away.

It must take your location when you initially set up your profile?

I thought that's a default for someone who has their location turned on but hasn't been online recently enough to show distance on profile...but I could be well wrong.

I had trouble with this before. I think giving your internet browser on your phone permission to use location services sorted it for me.

We used to have it on until after a local fabber who had been told we werent interested decided to send us barrage of messages one of which said that they noticed we were very close and wondered which house we lived in. Needless to say that person was blocked and yet stil tried to contact us via the forums. I wont be in a rush to use it again

This happened to me too. It still shows my home location as Belfast. I've done everything to try to get it changed back but nothing has worked.
