Only if you go to play which means they are but if its just for nude sunbathing and swimming there's ones in Dublin less than 10 min walk from the car

Kids and families generally use the main beach car park and entrance which is more than 1km from the start of the nude area. Any that do come in by the Island entrance are either know what to expect and are totally fine with it or move 50 yards to the left of the entrance

Drive down to The Island Golf Club and there is a small whole in the hedge before the club entrance. Follow the path all the way and it takes you out down the end of the beach (nudist part) A lot quicker than walking the whole beach ...

Can I throw my two cents in.

Lived near this beach for a couple of years.

No longer unfortunately.

As someone mentioned you can shorten the walk by parking in front of the golf club and walking through the gap in the bushes... Just head towards the beach then.

When you hit the beach head right.

Keep going until the dunes start to drop and then turn right up into them

All the action happens up in there.

Mainly gay/bi men the odd couple but it's rare.

I went a lot. And was propositioned a lot however everyone was decent and kind and never pushy.

Was jogging on Donabate beach yesterday, I stopped down near the end (accros from Malahide estuary) I happened to interrupt a very passionate couple in the middle of something lol! If you folks are on here, hi and sorry for the disturbance, although you didn’t seem to mind!

make sure you get past the golf course to the dunes though else you might get bothered by lots of guys trying to get their balls in multiple holes

We have been going to the sand dunes at Donabate for several years. We don't get there as often as we'd like to but always enjoy it. Often chat with people there and enjoy some soft play. Hoping to go tomorrow

have walked to the nudist part in Donabate alright, but not too often as I find it is a really hard walk in the sand to get there and feels like it's miles away. By the time you do get there and try to clamber up over the rather high and steep bank to get into the secluded Dunes and grass area I find I am almost too tired to have much fun.

No doubt I will give it another go, it can be a very rewarding spot, especially down in the group of trees
