You win a million but you are not allowed to keep it or give it to family or friends. Who would you give it to, partly or solely ?

There are websites which compare how effective charities are . Ideally the charity should do high-impact, cost-effective stuff—backed by evidence and analysis

The Hope Foundation. I've got 2 kids on the spectrum and these guys really helped me get early diagnosis leading to early intervention. They do great work. When we used to run events and parties we always did a collection

for these guys and would have donated any profits if there were any lol.

Limerick

I'd give it to local charities and community groups where I can see how it's being spent as opposed to large charities where it would be swallowed up by admin/salaries/advertising etc.

Slightly bending the rules, I would set up a dual treatment centre for addiction and mental health, a service that is badly lacking in this country

The Christian Brothers and Religious Sisters of Éire campaign for the reintroduction of Corporal Punishment in Primary Schools.

Unfortunately our super sensitive snowflake generation need something proper to complain and protest against..

A tougher stance needs to be taken on the little shifts.. to give them a more balanced outlook on life. :-

1mil is not what it used to be...just a bit of change, really.

I'd pay for some small heritage project. But wouldn't give it away.

I'm terribly sceptical of Irish charities, so would avoid most of them!

250k to Galway Hospice

250k to Western Alzhimer

50k to Animal charity

45k each to 10 Olympians in training!

They are on that money already from the sports council if they are olympians in training as far as I know

South County Dublin

I would set up a trust fund and buy some small commercial property that would generate income, to keep the trust in funds so it could continue to contribute to good causes.

I initially would give 100k euros to favourite charities, ie MS. I would form a committee of like minded Fabbers to over see where the money went on a quarterly basis. I would give training grants to Olympicans, which would have to be accounted for, to help them compete overseas.

Yea coz nothing better than a 40+ year old man beating on 12 year old boy. Real tough guy he is. What went on in schools in the past was shocking.

They do, but unfortunately not a fraction of what's required to compete against larger nations!

Carlow

Buy a rundown old railway station, do it as tourist place, have some rail tracks laided. Cafe in station and repair centre for the trains. Stream trains. Run trains and anybody looking for money from me can work at the place. If after all bills paid they make profit they can keep it.
