It's so good to see this thread.

I had to thought about starting one like this many times before because I suffer badly. But I didn't want to risk bringing the mood of the forum down..as some one who hasn't started many threads.

Weekends can be tough for loneliness for some people. Today I'm ok. Ok good. Not ok bad.

Very well done Chris, Definitely found over the year even known that someone is there makes a difference. Even if it's just a smile to a stranger as you pass on the street can make a difference to some.

I've thought about suicide every day for months.

Fair play OP. I went through a couple of rough patches recently and things can really get you. Being a typical man I kept the brave face on despite having people I could talk to. So I do strongly recommend talking to someone.

Its a hard thing to admit when you feel that ill.

I think of depression a bit like mental quicksand, the more you try to struggle with it by yourself the more it traps you and tires you out. It takes support from others to help you out. xx

I've had 7 therapists already and learned something from each one.

I gave up drink and refined sugar, lost loads of weight, read a lot of books.

I have a lot of amazing friends and support.

Well done, you should be proud of what you've done. Using different therapists is ok,as you say you release a little more each time you chat to someone. Hopefully you continue on a path to happiness, there will be lows but you can overcome them and experience the highs again.

It's hard to feel proud when I've not made much progress despite the work I've put in.

I wish my parents never had children. I can't take my own life because I don't want to do that to my mother so I just continue with this until she passes on. I hate that I don't even have control over when I can die.

Feelings are hard to feel when you are dealing with difficult thoughts....I’m sorry to hear it’s difficult but hopefully you can see from this thread that you aren’t alone. I notice you have good friends, have learned from others and love the sea. I have found all 3 of these helpful in times of difficulty. Sending you (and everyone who has contributed to this forum post) the kindest of intentions and a virtual hug.

Baby steps, just watched YouTube video about cleaning with depression. One of the things was just go for a walk and just do one task. If dishes in sink wash them don't try to clean the whole kitchen. Have a shower. What is important is getting up eating right and exercise. The other things can be done 1 at time

Doing small things at time building on it.

Glad it’s brought up, talking is so good to another person, even if it’s a pile of poo, running, walking and physical activity is do good, even go and watch the squirrels climb your leg or the trees in the botanic gardens

The previous few years have been very hard in everyone, I’m only now getting back to playing and singing, thanks to some of the musicians I know, try and be around positive vibes

Thank you for sharing your feelings in the forum.

Life can get difficult sometimes. It’s good to talk and exercise as the other posters have said. Even though you might not believe it now...a thought is a thought and is transient meaning it can change...things can and often do get better. Spring follows winter and hopefully posting this means you can see are not alone. If you feel you are slipping - talk to the gp/friends/anyone. Sending kind intentions and a big virtual hug x

Talk to your GP.

You may need meds to help clear your head....

Talk to a counsellor....

Get out and walk...

Rebuild your life like you would build a wall, by tackling your issues...

"one brick at a time".

It takes a little time to rebuild your confidence but you will come back a stronger person for having learned some new coping skills.

Take good care of YOU.

My town

Speak to gp, speak to someone depression is a lonely isolated illness, mental health is still health and you need to look after yourself. Depression is horrible but talking is the first move letting feelings out. Never feel no one will listen people will, seek in professional a friend or family member. Look after yourselves
