How to politely say no

We get offers now and again from people who just aren’t our type. So how do u say do?

After being told “your not for us, sorry”

They reply with y?

Is there a polite response, other than what has already been said

If they then ask you for a drink! And u explain free time is hard enough to find so you don’t wanna waste their time or yours if it’s not going anywhere.

Any other tips to be polite and get a point across BEFORE HITTING THE BLOCK BUTTON

When you politely reply ...no thanks and they ask why!! It's simply the block button for them. I'm not here to have to explain my reasons for not being interested in someone

We have it it our profile blurb that “please don’t be offended if we don’t reply as physical attraction is a must”

Works for us

I have reached out numerous times to different ladies on here and sometimes you get a reply saying “thanks but no thanks” and as much as that’s not the answer I was waiting to hear it is however an answer and with an answer you can just move on. What gets to me is no answer at all, or worse a message never even read. I have learned now to just delete the message once it’s sent so you are not just waiting to see if they are going to open the message.

I might ask for some constructive criticism when I get a no thanks to see if it’s something about my profile but I’m slowly learning to just move on.

Usually along the lines of thanks for the message but you're not what I'm looking for.

Anything other than no problem in response to that gets blocked.

We tell people that they're not our type or what were looking for.. it seems rude to some but have yet to come up with a more polite way to decline. Anyone with a shred of maturity should realise that they can't be everyone's cup of tea and that rejection is part of this.

It can be a difficult thing for some people to make first contact, especially whilst carrying a personal history of rejection and, more often, a complete lack of response so we try to kindly reply, even if it's to say good luck.

Aggression, repeated messages after a "no", and/or questions for validation and ego-stroking will trigger a block... No means no.

Thanks for the interest its not a match for me Happy fabbing ....if one looks for an explanation in a message is a no no

the difference is in a face to face conversation charm might help but in a message here

People block themselves

After that

No response is a response, I've moved on they will too when they message the next person lol

Life goes on

If anyone asks why after being told no, then it’s well you are not what we are currently after or looking for and we can keep you in mind if that changes.

After that it’s deleting further messages or blocking.

Just delete the message and don't engage in the pointless why not ping pong. Failing that, it's the block button

I get this but I always want to be polite sometimes backfires as looks like a lead on situation

We'll always be polite when I say no thanks. After that I just think I don't owe anyone anything and further engagement, as you say, can just muddy the waters

I get a lot of men messaging me. I think being direct is the best way. Just a simple “I’m not interested sorry” works the best and I think most people appreciate it when you’re upfront.

Blocking, for me is a little impolite and unnecessary; if you are not interested simply ignore but if the declined approach becomes insistent or worse still, abusive then blocking is a must.

It is important in life, short as it is, not to burn bridges, or to get a reputation for curtness.

Within this 'specialism' reputation is everything!

We have a pretty standard response that now comes up as predictive text and it goes.

Hi xxx

Thanks for the message and introduction, but we will politely decline.

Take care and happy fabbing!

If someone has really gone to an effort then we will expand further. Conversely, it the message is a hi or wanna meet now then we will just go with no thanks.

If we get the why, then we just block, but most of the time the polite standard response is well received.

I always think it's better to say no if that's the answer than say nothing or not reply. I know some don't take no as an answer. But it's nice to be nice and not replying is rude

Well thats what I think.

But everyone is different

Several replies I have had in the past say similar things#; Not for me thanks, but all the best! A line that was used on me several years ago when I was trying to date a particular lady was: We are not on the same wavelength. That is a nice way to tell someone you are not interested

I find it best when couples or females dont reply. 'Not for me' that's good too.

It's the U-turners i dislike. Chatting , getting on great. They suggest a social the u-turn , picking something they were ok with at first as their OUT

I normally politely tell them that im not interested and if they continue messaging, I just block them!!

Its easy and straight forward.
