"There are always cliques where there is a large number of people, some of these will simply be people with common interests or who find each other easy to get on with and/or supportive, other groups will exist whose raison d'etre is apparently to assert themselves as the dominant or superior group. It all seems like hard work really and makes me grateful that I'm an introvert " I hear ya, Definitely too much hard work, make love not war - that should be the new fab slogan

"Groups of people into which one has not YET been assimilated could possibly be described as cliques, whilst people whom one communicates with are rarely ascribed this perjorative term! " So...... when you are not in a clique you can call them a clique, but when you are in a clique you can't call them a clique

Fabswingers, in its entirety is a broad church; if you want to integrate into this lifestyle choice, learn how to play this game as best you can. Some people will regard you as desirable, whilst others will not. You cannot be all things to all men; there will always be a pecking order. Some learn quickly, others do not; everyone will find their niche, eventually!

"For a newbie or an outside observer the fab forum can be rather cliquey and hostile or perceived as such. It can easily give you the impression that everyone knows each other. Some actually do mainly through socials/parties but many don't, they just got to 'online-know' the other forumites. Anyhow some forum behaviour doesn't help such as: The same people flirting or bantering with each other while the rest is totally ignored, it's often done to a cringe level. Full threads are being taken over or derailed by some forumites spinning around their own axis. And worst case scenario is the bashing of a thread op or poster by a bunch of people just because said fabber doesn't fit into their narrow box. "
