Don't want this necessarily want it to be another , how expensive things are thread.

It's more the impact of it

After the pandemic we decided to go to more socials and started with vanilla and had great night

We had plans to attend others and vanilla but every time we look at accommodation for the events it's just too expensive to justify it.

(In no way blaming those who run events, nothing got to do with them)

So then , it has another element, of having a play meet, it's now even more expensive if we want it to happen at a hotel.

We feel it's going to be tough to organise a bit of fun

I assume we aren't the only ones who's fab life is suffering

(And yes very much a fab world problem, we appreciate we are in a very privileged position)

Have you tried using websites that allow you to book very far in advance to get the hotels near vanilla and cancel if you can't make it.

I don't go to vanilla but maybe they'd work...there's also a new hotel reopening soon nearby that you might get cheap rates booking in advance

Im attending a social in Watford in Aug, booking and other apps were crazy priced i booked through the hotel site and considering it's a Saturday in Aug got a double room B&B at a very good price

I do feel your pain

After years of getting the courage to meet then covid hits! Met some after covid and had some lovely times. Now I have a few I really want to meet, I can't because hotels are just ridiculous prices! Hoping they do come down in price so I can get away. Its much needed!

I think the international tourist trade has not restarted..

If no one is paying the rates asked sooner or later the hotels are going

To have drop the rates..

Do they want empty hotels at X amount per night...or a fullish hotel at y amount..?

The hotels are at 97% full capacity at the moment

A lot of 3 star hotels outside Dublin completely taken over by the government for Ukrainians

In Dublin....a lot of concerts,tourists and businesses booking rooms again

Red Cow is being used to house refugees as well.

Cant be the only one in dublin.

Thats a chunk of rooms there

There are several day stay 9-5 options in Dublin as well at reasonable rates

We are going to an event shortly and it's 250 for one night with no breakfast. They know the plave is booked out due to an event so cost is higher . If we booked same plave a week later same room with no event on ot was 180 for the night . Hotels are gone crazy prices and same as hostels. A room for 1 night in du lin theu were looking at 400 . Not joking in September

Been thinking about this and gonna go all ‘top-gear’ and kit the back of a estate car out, curtains, grapple hooks for rope-fun, single hob for cups tea during ‘intervals’, foam base and rubber sheets with a gradient and drainage for fluids to flow out of the vehicle. Clearance might be an issue and group fun will of course be like a lift in one of those small hotels..Max only 4!!!!

Let others see and join in, queue up even. In fact, there's a marketing idea for Fabbers - Fabmobile: at your service - book your slot now and save yourself a fortune on hotel costs...will even provide baby wipes so you feel completely refreshed when leaving
