"What show has/had the best theme tune?"

You can't have a thread about theme tunes without mentioning Friends. Love it or hate it, we all know it!

What you are probably referring to is the final Benny chase sequence in his later shows, which I think is called Yakety Sax.

Any show with an actual song should be discounted. It’s not a real theme tune. But if I had to pick one, Believe it or not, it’s just me…. The Greatest American Hero. Would consider songs specifically written for the show, eg Different Strokes but, again not really a theme tune.

Another vote here for Airwolf, loved that one.

"Failing that, Halls Pictorial Weekly"

Frank Hall, who was originally from Newry must be deceased at least 30 years. Behind the scenes, he had a colourful love life, including a very long-term affair that was largely kept a secret from his adoring public, until he had passed away.

Good call on Battlestar Galactica but the newer BSG music by Bear McCreary is savage too. Especially the later stuff done with the BSG Orchestra.

Staying on a science fiction theme. Firefly theme song has always been a big favourite of mine.
