On a side note.. I remember listening as a ten year old to the main evening news on the radio on the day of his execution. The report included eye witness testimony from a reporter who had been there at the time, or immediately after. He went above and beyond in describing the aftermath, talking about the carrot with the holes in it, and the bits of fabric from his shirt, body tissue and blood all over the chair and the ground. I've never forgotten it. Gruesome stuff.
