It’s shockingly bad lately . The price of hotels/airbnbs has put a lot of people off arranging something i think

There was one I knew about last Saturday but I think it's only the RVC doing something for this bank holiday. It's gotten really expensive to go out anywhere tbh, especially for the night

Yeah it’s gone mental to try to do anything … any night cost 250 or more per couple now almost

It would be cheaper to purchase a

Plane ticket and camp out in Dublin Airport while queuing!

Well there is a bnb in our town and she is like a

100 for a night at the weekend . And we can host for drinks and/or play if all goes well … but that’s still hard to sort because of the price of fuel and drinks etc ..

The scene in Ireland is already quiet enough ..2 years of lockdowns has almost ruined it … and now hotels gouging people and Airbnb landlords cashing in and monopolising on the situation has made it worse

Think the ROI alcohol pricing didn't help the situation too as it's genuinely cheaper for people to come up north for a weekend than go out on a night out in ROI, so hotels up north are constantly booked out hence them doing what they want with pricing...

You'd almost think that ROI government have some kind of goal to kill hospitality and tourism business completely

The hotels in Belfast are much better value for day rate and overnight compared to Dublin

Although there's hotels in Drogheda and Dundalk very good value too

This is nuts. I paid€230 for a hotel this week as a single. I couldn't believe it I even asked was he sure that price was right.

Absolute madness. Much better value out there than Dublin. Much better!

Most people now seem to be hosting their own parties at their homes with selected guests. I know of 1 or 2 profiles on this site that are doing it this weekend. Seems to be the way forward
