If you're going to someone's place to do the naughties or have someone coming over, do you prepare food for them?

Be it some snacks, a full blown meal, some dessert or cake or whatnot.

Obviously it depends a bit on how long you'll be staying and how well you know them, but I'm curious how people think about this topic

I'm somewhat prone to bringing homemade cake, as we often have some at home

Had a fwb when I joined first and we'd often bring coffee over in thr morning especially if one of us had been on nights.

Could never go to a meet without my trusty jar of coconut oil it turns everything into a delicious snack!

Ive been down to someone's home recently for an overnight i brought some lovely cakes and he cooked a delicious dinner,we went away last weekend for a few day's and he did most of the cooking whilst there...

OMG!! I’d ride ya for a bag of turf.

If I’m ever having a day long meet in my place I cook. With my main man we discuss the meal days in advance as we are both foodies. I also cook if it’s evening time. I was hanging out with a couple of fabbers at the weekend and cooked for them.

And I’m dessert.

Jaysus I cant stand the texture of coconut oil lads, I can cope with it in food just about. Recently it was chocolate, strawberries and prosecco. I brought the fruit. He's v prepared so bonus points there.

On the rare occasions I’ve gone to someone’s house I’d always bring cake. Because who doesn’t like cake.

If I have company for the evening or overnight I enjoy cooking. But I’d definitely discuss what to cook in advance. No point putting a slab of cow in front of them and being told they’re vegetarian

Getting a good takeaway is also an option, especially if it’s a weekend.

It wouldn’t bother me if they didn’t bring anything as it’s the company is the main thing. Plus my house is full of snacks and chocolate

There was a lovely young fella who used to take three trains from remote Tralee to visit. He said it was worth the three hours journey as he'd get a Mammy dinner served up to him and a packed lunch and a flask of tea for the way home. The way to a man's heart is keep his balls drained and his belly full

Do people you meet get to choose what you're making them then?

TBH I also love to make food for others but my fiancée is next level on that. She can't not have something made when there are people coming over or going to visit others.

I don't drink alcohol but I keep a bottle if good quality vodka, and mixers, for those that do!

Delivery services are so good nowadays, it's a waste of time to start cooking.

One

decided she was going to brew me some special coffee and arrived at my place with the contents of a kitchen with her. Over an hour later

I had my cuppa which helped fuel the session that followed.

Nice gesture and all that but fook me, instant coffee and an extra hour of play would have hit the spot better!
