Someone who is half sensible, has a sense of humour and is capable of telling me when I'm a dick, even when I'm not

I'd argue that a bestie shouldn't actually do that and challenge you if you're doing stupid stuff for the wrong reasons. Like trying to booty call a toxic ex or something.
