I'm quite enjoying getting older. I think there will come a point when zero f**ks are given. Especially to trivial matters.

Last saturday afternoon I was at a social lunch with about 12 other fabbers

When leaving the carpark the female fabber in front couldn't get the barrier to rise ( I know what you're thinking but I'm keeping it clean )

She got out of her car, came back to me and asked for the code.

I say 1989....a great year...

She said that she was born that year

I'm officially old anyway ffs

Every day I spend the whole day surrounded by people who are young enough to be my grandchildren; it is an envigorating environment.

I certainly don't feel old; I have looked after myself with great care, all my life.

Ageing is a process which is largely determined by genetics and accelerated by abuse of one's body.

Make the most of your life; in astronomical terms, human life is the merest blink of an eye.

Embrace it, one thing about getting older you can be pissed off and just blame old age , the lines I love because they are life lines and hopefully laughter and good memory lines.

I don't look or feel my age so I don't dwell on it.

I'm making up for decades of lost time but even that is at my own pace and not rushed.

I know relatively speaking I'm not old. But I can see the grey hairs and the wrinkles and feel that my energy is not as good and hear myself go "aaaah" when I sit down. I'm not happy with it at the min. I hope I'll be able to accept it.

Everybody gets old , health is way more important than an age , the advantage of getting on is you don't give a fuck anymore to what used bother you , wether it's a relationship ..work.. social life .. meeting someone..you are gone way beyond putting up with their pettiness ..when you mature you see things as they really are and you don't give a tuppenny fuck you realize that you yourself are the most important part of your life , if things suit ..great ..if not ..don't bother .

It doesn't bother me at all. I know stuff now that I didn't know years ago so that's a plus. There are things that I've learned to appreciate that I didn't even I was younger so I'm happy with that. It is what it is.

There is nothing we can do to to stop the progress of time. I’d my first grey hair in twenties, where once it was jet black it now looks like there’s a badger asleep in my head. And don’t get me started on the aches and pains. It’s one thing injuring yourself in work or where ever but waking up and not knowing what happened just boggles the mind.

So accept it and try and make the most of every day, I need to practice what I preach. Enjoy the journey and make plenty memories along the way.

I spent a couple of years worrying about it... but I think I've made peace with it. I love that I've built a large family and a large home to grow old with/in. I know I'm not going to be lonely... but I also know that I'm going to struggle to find time for myself. I worry that I don't have a big pension, but I'm happy that I live without debt that I would need to pay for most of the rest of my life. I'm delighted to have a deep relationship, and thet we have a high compatibility level which should hopefully continue into old age. I like that she is 8 years younger than me, but I hope to go before I'm a burden.

I don't really know what age is considered getting old. I'm all good with it anyway. Few silver hairs coming through on the head and chin but I can laugh them off.

Same when every now and again something happens and I think jaysus, that's very 'grown up' - silly things like looking into pension plans again I just laugh it off.

I'm kept going with work but I'm still getting to enjoy myself regularly, whether that's through travel or heading to a gig/match, or a couple of scoops on a weekend. And trying to keep in somewhat decent health.

So... I could be in worse places

Im trying not to get into the headspace of trying to battle with the inevitable though, thats a waste of precious energy lol!!

Like that I have more confidence and more of a don’t give a fuck attitude… though both have to be worked on more! And i love that I get to explore my sexuality more too

But I really don’t like the grey/white hair! or the aches and pains or the being constantly sick the last 2 years!!!

But it has also made me determined to get fitter to limit the damages and to enjoy life to the fullest cos you have to enjoy the NOW right? Never know what’s around the corner…

Really like your take on it..

Re the sciatica, I had chronic sciatica, tried many things and only thing that worked for me was amatsu massage. I go back for a top up every 3 months and it keeps it at bay.
