Who is your funniest tv character. Someone who makes you laugh no matter how many times you’ve seen the show.

Mine has to be Barney Stinson from How I Met Your Mother.

Never fails to make me laugh.

Dinner for one

A New Year's Eve tradition in our family when we grew up. My mother would watch it with us every year, a 10/15 minute sketch - seeing her laugh tears every year without fail can still make me laugh to this day and the sketch doesn't lose its appeal either

"On TV.....The cast of Friends...watch it everyday...can't separate them out "

Proof of every it was needed that humour is a very personal thing.

After series one, I think Friends is one of the least funny things I've ever tried watching. Mind you, it was still better that that big bang theory nonsense.

Stephen Fry's General Sir Anthony Cecil Hogmanay Melchet character was one of the funniest characters I've ever seen. The various Blackadder series brought us some hilarious characters down the years.

It's as if I wrote this post.

Same tradition here and my kids love it now too.

For anyone wanting to watch it. It's on YouTube. D"

Newry Down

Although it was originally broadcast in the mid-50s, The Phil Silvers Show aka Sergeant Bilko aka You'll Never Get Rich tops the TV ratings for the funniest show of all time.

Nat Hiken specifically shadowed Phil Silvers for a full year in order to devise a format that would exploit his amazing talent to the maximum.

It is not broadcast now, but if you ever get a chance to watch the show in which a monkey becomes a recruit, and Bilko becomes his Attorney, it is hilarious.
