Let's talk Grunge, what was your favourite album or band? Which of the Unplugged sets do you flick on when you need to lose your shit for an hour?

I love the pumpkins (knocked myself out at their Dublin gig), radiohead (not grunge I know) pixies, Alice in chains (fab worthy name)

Yeah Alice in Chains for me were the best of the lot. I was into Screaming Trees too but AIC albums stand the test of time better

Even the albums with the new singer are top drawer

Just spotted today is Laynes anniversary, what a voice. Him and cantrell has the incredible harmonies. AIC unplugged is like therapy

For my money, Alice in Chains were head and shoulders above the other Seattle bands of that era and Dirt is the best album. I quite like Pearl Jam (even if nothing after 10 has been all that memorable), Soundgarden and Nirvana but I don't love them like I do AIC. I was lucky enough to see the original line-up of AIC twice, once supporting Megadeth and once headlining.

Nirvana were mentioned 8 hours ago, and yep they define the genre. Nirvana was funnily enough like a spiritual awakening for me, got me into music
