"What Simpson's quote typifies your personality and why? "Billy Corrigan, Smashing Pumpkins" "Homer Simpson, Smiling Politely" gives me such a laugh, in my first job I was regularly bewildered by the shite people would say to make small talk. Smiling politely was pretty much my only response! I have improved since then I swear.. " "in this house we obey the laws of thermodynamics" - Homer to Lisa after she created a perpetual motion machine Reason being I am really into health and fitness and 'energy can neither be created, nor destroyed' is a fundemental law of physics that disproves a lot of people's saying they can't lose weight despite dieting and exercising. If you consume fewer calories than you burn, you must lose weight. Hence, if you want to lose weight either eat less calories and/or increase the amount of calories you burn through activity and exercise.

Just to be clear here, I don't care about how people live their lives and don't shame people based on their appearance. I lost a lot of weight myself and friends ask me for advice all the time. That's the context to this that is missing and mught make me sound like a judgemental arsehole

"Nah I get you, perfect example! I'm one of those lazy bastards and it's more that I couldn't put on weight for years but I just wasn't eating enough calories " I didn't have a clue about nutrition. Learning about calories in vs calories out changed my life because prior to that, all food was pretty much the same with obvious exceptions like veggies pizza That Simpsons quote I use every other week now, as a result
