who was from Donegal, but actually lived most of her life in Belfast.

This song was a massive hit in the 1960s. It was broadcast daily on Radio Eireann, now RTE Radio 1.

I would have to say Joe McDonnell by the wolfetones. I know the wolfetones are controversial on this island but some of the songs they sing about ireland are amazing. They will stand the test of time wether you like the songs or not.
