So my profile and pics are hidden this morning.

I do wonder sometimes how people get on in real life. Woke this morning to find my "actual name" in a status with a reference to my username.

Never interacted with this person so no idea who the guy is but what did he think? I was going to message him all sweetness and light. Now I have nothing to I'm single, I'm a consenting adult hut id prefer that all and sundry don't know my business.

This guy had " Discreet and professional " on his profile too.

Please guys and gals think before you post something at end of day majority of us are here for fun, life is crap enough without the drama

I think some people will try and get attention in any way possible. They think they're cool and clever with their shite moves but really they're just exposing themselves as total arseholes. In most cases I'd say let them work away because we get to see how they really operate but actually naming someone like that is all kinds of wrong. I hope you find out who it is and get a chance to tell them face to face that they're a massive cunt

1. Your surname

2. Your mobile number

3. Your address

5. The names of people you know.

The problem is that the people you think you can trust are the same people who may talk to those who will use that information for their own benefit to your detriment.

I had a guy message me regarding having a 3 some with another lady here. He told me her real name, basically her eircode, her daughters names, way too much information for a guy that hadn't even a verification from her.

That's too stalkerish for me!!!

I had to block him.

You don't have to have spoken to people because "lovely genuine" people are very comfortable telling other people's stories and using their real names at social events the people they are discussing aren't attending.

I've been given unsolicited info about fabbers in private messages from people I've never spoken to before on the back of something I posted on here, either because they hope to impress me or to gauge my reaction.

Sorry to hear that. A new law has rightly been passed .Its an offence to so share someones private pictures without their consent. basically naming someone to pics displayed without their agreement should fall under the same category and in my view is therefore an offence too.

Personally I’ve made the mistake of letting someone know my name in the past. So she googled me and found a couple of my old Facebook accounts before deciding to meet me in person. Never seen her since and not sure if she’s still on the site or not. She explained that she did it for her own safety at the time, I didn’t think much of it at the time. Needless to say I’ve not done it since.

That makes it even scarier. Perhaps check with Fab admin if exif metadata is stripped from photos before posting here. If not then the probably should be. exif metadata can contain gps coordinates from where a photo was taken. A lot of phones these days add this by default. Best to remove it before posting to be on the safe side.

Your experience is a warning to us all about a concept called jigsaw identification: using bits of info to build up a complete profile, usually with an ulterior motive.

Best that they have a record of it as an initial intrusion of privacy so that, hopefully not but, if he does anything similar again, it might then be classified as harassment or the like and he could be prosecuted/cautioned as a result.

My eyes are wide opened now after a bad experience I had recently. My naivety with being new here, I thought everyone thought like me to keep all others business on here a secret and non of my business! Not going into the details but some men are real assholes when it comes to fab and secrecy!
