Changing your mind about someone

i travel all over

From the lounge

As you spend more time on the site do your perceptions of some people change?

Those you have met , interacted with on the forum or through PMs Or social media groups , have you started with a positive view and moved towards a negative one or the other way round ? Or do you tend to make up your mind early and stick to it ?

on a separate note have you perceived people differently when they have been in a single profile then a couple profile or the other way round ?

Obviously keep things respectful and no need to post anything identifiable . It’s more to get a general sense of how posters approach their evaluation process and how this changes with time

It takes a lot for me to change my first impression but then I am a stubborn cunt

It happens very seldom but annoyingly the people I really don't like end up becoming those I'm closest with. Usually thats because they've said something so bitchy to me that its made me laugh.

It's impossible to tell what a person's is truly like based by solely what they have posted on the forums. We all view life from a different perspective, and all of us have had different life experiences that has shaped our opinions. The society is we live in is hierarchical, the well scrubbed middle classes put on their profiles they only want to meet up with other professionals. The people with the old money probably like to avoid those vulgar nouveau riche upstarts with their designer labels and new top of the range German cars. The fitness fanatics who live in the gym, probably don't want to meet up chubby folk unless she's a woman. The people who are on this site for years probably view newbies with suspicion. The only thing we all have in common, is that we like to meet up with multiple people for sex.

Often depends how it’s said . A laughing emoji can make a difference

I tend to approach most people with an eye to their behaviour, especially towards others, as opposed to the words coming out of their mouth/being typed by their fingers. I never ignore a red flag.

Personally I see everyone in a positive light until they prove me wrong with their actions or mentality.

Never ignore a red flag.

Many people I met in person have told me that I'm not what they expected me (in a good way) to be based solely on my online persona (which is genuinely no different from real life, apart from my actual facial expressions and tone of voice which most of the time puts things I say in a right context).

Missus

Lol.. I don't think I clash with EVERYONE

Perhaps i should be faster to agree than I am to disagree though.

I get a lot of mail agreeing with me and I think a lot of folk don't speak up when then might disagree for one reason or another.

People go from thinking I'm a downright sexy beast to thinking I'm a downright incredibly sexy beast.

So you still think I’m a pain?…..

No chance to redeem myself?….

I live in hope…..

I tend to try reserve full judgement until I get to talk to someone, either on the phone or on person. Until that stage nothing is really real.

That being said plenty of people come off as a little stuck up themselves. But as I said, hard to judge.

Newry Down

I find that many people nowadays are so fickle that I have a policy of ad hoc pragmatism: I just take people as I find them on the day, or in some extreme cases on the hour.

No preconceptions about individuals translates into no misconceptions!
