I've been very much enjoying Bela Lugosi's Dead by Nouvelle Vague!

Also Starstrukk by Marina and the Diamonds (original by Katy Perry and 3OH!3). The original is your run of the mill throwaway pop song but Marina's version really elevates it

Many excellent covers here but many of the originals frankly are better.

So here's my arguably better than the original covers.

Let's Spend the Night Together. David Bowie took this catchy but average Stones song (yes average relative to their other brilliant work) and injected umph. It's brilliant. (put up the Bass!)

Step On, Happy Mondays is a much better than the original.

Hush. Covered multiple times but favourite versions are by Deep Purple and by Kula Shaker.

AC/DC - Baby Please Don't Go, Boom Boom.

Florence & The Machine - You Got the Love, Sweet Nothing, Stay With Me.

Anthrax - Got the Time.

Megadeth - These Boots Were Made for Walking, Paranoid.

The Frames - Heyday, The Auld Triangle, Raglan Road, Gimme a Bullet (Yes! They did and it's excellent ), Redemption Song, The Blowers Daughter.

Glenn Hansard - People Get Ready, Gloria, Vigilante Man, Gold, Astral Weeks, Love Don't Leave Me Waiting/Respect and many others

Have to stop now but hopefully I've given you some joy listening to some of my favourites above. There's a lot more but I'm pulling the earworm out now or I'll be here all night
