My own fault but ive been with our current crowd for years because it was handy but theyve now sent out a renewal quote for over 300 dearer than last years so enough is enough. Which is better going to brokers or what

Cork

axa cheapest I could find this year.

Try the broker and then ring the cheapest company yourself(saves having to answer every question over n over ringing all the companies yourself). And some places offer 10% if purchased online..

Dedicated a morning ringing around

Get your quotes from other insurers and then contact your current insurer and ask them if they can do you a better deal.

If you are a golfer, and a member of a golf club, contact AIG Foregolf, they are very competitive and give a substantial discount when you quote your GUI number.

Use the likes of Chill to see who is giving the best rates and then go to their own sites. It will all depend on who is looking to take someone in a particular age range and gender on.

I’m with insure my van and insure my car, both policies are through AXA who I used to be with, but at half the price. I don’t understand how they can do it.

Clare,

I paid mine last week, best advice is to get your details together, license, no claims bonus ect and just spend a evening typing your details into ever insurance company and broker you can think of. I seriously think insurance quotes are just plucked from the sky. Best of luck

Call them up and ask them if there’s Anything they can do etc

They most probably will reduce it

Use a broker.

Quickquotes in the docks is worth a shout. My insurance is down this year through them.

I'm with Aviva, have the house and car with them so get an extra discount, also if there is another car insurance policy under the address you get a further discount.

Shop around and ALYWAYS get no claims bonus protection!...Any insurer worth their salt should be throwing in breakdown assist and make sure it includes driveway assist also!

Go online with your existing provider for a quote ..I guarantee its cheaper .! Then argue the toss and they will beat your best quote either with themselves or another insurer.

Apart from ringing around the Trick is to do as early as possible - if you leave it to last 2/3 days they won’t give you as big a discount trust me

Same here - they also threw in free holiday insurance including the discounts for having

Car and house insurance / house and car
