Hard to take a side in it I think, I thought the women were foolish but it's amazing how convincing people can be. Have you listened to The fake heiress she fooled so many people out of money, ran up massive hotel bills etc

Is it greed or is it a need to be wanted to be treated so well etc

The amount of romance fraud I reckon is not half reported across the world

One of the investigators called it a ponse scheme how many people over the years got suckered into them. Wasn't there a guy a few years ago was going to host a massive music festival on some island sell a load of tickets etc and there was no festival at all

I'd say the actual amount of romance fraud is underreported because people are embarrassed.

I would say there's an element of people being seduced by the lifestyle presented. Maybe some are gold diggers, but I think overwhelmingly people like the Tinder Swindler target vulnerable, lonely people. I think the lifestyle they pretend to have is a way of sucking people in. I think anyone who falls for it is to be sympathised with - I feel if you were mercenary enough to just be attracted to wealth, then you wouldn't fall for wealth scams. You'd already be wise to the schemes.

Just my two cents though

Just my two cents though. Ye he targeted the lonely and vulnerable surely like women living on there own in another country cute fucker he’d want to be buried in the bog. 5 months jail wasn’t a lot for frauden over 10 million

Id actually love to see a documentary on how he viewed the whole situation. No harm, no man is gonna convince me to hand over thousands of euros for his "security". He's a manipulative cunt and they were naive enough to be drawn in by the lavish life.

Im cagey about a persons motives if they even offer to buy me a mc donalds lol

Online fraud is vastly on the increase worldwide; most people are aware of the Nigerian 419 scam and its variants, but online scammers are vastly more sophisticated nowadays.

These groups are expert manipulators who have a thorough understanding of their targets, and which buttons to press.

The www has provided a mechanism for scammers to reach right into people's homes, even from their bases thousands of miles away.

Police forces are almost impotent to prevent this and many victims are too embarrassed to report their financial losses.

I personally know of an instance where a guy was fleeced because of his personality, vulnerability loneliness isolation and naivete.

The scammers are good, really good; the only defence is education and watching case studies of previously successful scams that increase awareness of the red flags

People are weird. You would think that the swindler himself would be pretty smart and immune from being cheated. And then the Czech lady managed to pull a scheme on him.

But I would bet my money that more number of men have lost money to female scammers or men posing as women online than the other way around.

Just read some news a few months back about how a Uk guy even bought a flat for a woman in Ukraine and got swindled.

The prevalence of rogues, swindlers, scammers and fraudsters is probably equally represented within both genders.

These people are amazingly expert manipulators and have phenomenal insight into the psychology and vulnerabilities of their targets and victims.

Romance fraud is but one example of a repertoire of scams from which to choose

Bernie Madoff who died recently on Rikers Island ran a Ponzi scheme on a vast scale, and used other friends from within the East Coast Jewish diaspora.

But a lot of victims never go to the police because of embarrassment and the shame of having been taken

One guy I know could not buy food; but refused to believe in his victimhood.

Many so-called Tinder Swindlers fly below the radar very successfully.
