A town near you

I didn't win the Lotto.

Apparently one winner on the night the jackpot had to go after months of rollovers

Somewhere

"Yeah its a bit suspicious that tonight of all nights someone wins it"

Around 27 million lines sold. Only around 11 million different combinations. Slightly more likely to be one winner with the whole country buying tickets and sales way up.

How many tickets sold in the last few months. Its been flat out with sales. I'm in shops everyday. Sales the last few months have been a lot higher than a usual draw.

Course it's a fix, the national lottery on all week saying there was a guaranteed winner tonight and that when the jackpot caps again it will only rollover for 5 weeks

Pure fix if they had any cop on they would have had no winner on the main lotto draw and brought the money to the lower ranking money draws as planned

Kildare

Are yez saying it’s a fix because someone won, or it was fixed for a particular person to win.

It's all about the numbers. They probably sold twice as many tickets for this draw as they did for any draw over the last six months thereby making it more likely that there'd be a winner. There being one winner is in no way suggestive of it being fixed.

I'd imagine there's a weekly average number of people that buy it.. Its won far more often with just these people playing it so I'm not sure if an increase in people playing it was the reason it was won. Other jackpots have gone a lot faster.

Is all about the numbers playing out. If only one person plays it then it's much less likely to be won than if twenty million people play it. The same is true for all points along the way.

The lotto app and website both crashed yesterday because of the numbers playing.

Apparently the winner is in Mayo.

I heard on the radio this morning that a group of people went to Dublin from the Isle of Man I think they said, and spent 10,000 in Dublin on lotto tickets. I wonder how much they won and if they won at all.
