What’s the notioniest (shup, it’s a word) thing that you do/buy/must have.

I’ll only buy MiWadi dilute stuff (I’m great at using words today), none of that own brand shite and robinsons can feck right off.

I’m pretty notiony about my shampoo/conditioner and skincare too

" I’ll only buy MiWadi dilute stuff (I’m great at using words today), none of that own brand shite and robinsons can feck right off. "

That MiWadi dilute stuff (and Robinsons for that matter) use Aspartame as sweetener. Aspartame kills brain cells. The Aldi stuff (last time I checked) uses Sucralose which is healthier.

So maybe have a rethink about that notion

I refuse to pay ridiculous amounts for cologne and/or toiletries.

I buy dupes from The Essence Vault at a fraction of the cost and no one can tell the difference and they last just as long.

I use Mancave products which are all caffeine based and completely vegan friendly.

Apologies for the delay OP, but you asked, I agreed and i'm a woman of her word so here's a peer-reviewed review of peer-reviewed papers on the safety of aspartame

https://academic.oup.com/nutritionreviews/article/75/9/718/4101228?login=true

A few quotes:

"This review examines papers published between 2000 and 2016 on both the safe dosage and higher-than-recommended dosages and presents a concise synthesis of current trends. Data on the safe aspartame dosage are controversial, and the literature suggests there are potential side effects associated with aspartame consumption. Since aspartame consumption is on the rise, the safety of this sweetener should be revisited."

and ...

"The existing animal studies and the limited human studies suggest that aspartame and its metabolites, whether consumed in quantities significantly higher than the recommended safe dosage or within recommended safe levels, may disrupt the oxidant/antioxidant balance, induce oxidative stress, and damage cell membrane integrity, potentially affecting a variety of cells and tissues and causing a deregulation of cellular function, ultimately leading to systemic inflammation."

Look I know there are a multitude of studies to indicate that aspartame is safe, but while scientists disagree on the issue, my child won't be getting aspartame where avoidable and anyway it tastes awful

Look I know there are a multitude of studies to indicate that aspartame is safe, but while scientists disagree on the issue, my child won't be getting aspartame where avoidable and anyway it tastes awful "

Thanks for the link. You’re perfectly within your rights to choose to limit your own and your child’s intake of artificial sweeteners, you do you etc. However, there is nothing in that paper that proves a link between ingestion of aspartame and brain cells being killed. Some particular points to note:

- current knowledge is based on animal studies and human modelling is required to understand the true effect.

- dosages for all trials were at the maximum recommended adult daily intake of 40mg/kg or above. The authors note that the average intake in real life situations is between 5.6 and 14.7% of the ADI. Dosage matters.

Anyway, I don’t have enough notions about myself to think I’ll convince you to start drinking MiWadi I will continue to enjoy my orange and pineapple beverage though.

I’m off to sleep on my notiony silk pillowcase
