Digital Trail/Footprint

So lying in bed last night, it suddenly popped into my head about my digital trail or footprint. And I am mostly referring to Fabs related/alternative content. This is following on from researching creating a Will. If something were to happen me tomorrow, I have no plans in place regarding sensitive content on Fabs, Insta or my phone.

I am pretty careful TBH. All devices are passcode protected so after a timeout, they are locked. So no family member can login and potentially view anything. But it has got me thinking to taking steps to make sure everything secure.

Has anyone checked into this or have any advice or tips. It is probably not something many people consider TBH but I could be wrong.

I don't know about the security of this website but the dated design has made me very worried about it. I've had half a mind to delete my account just incase the site gets compromised

Yes I use a secure folder also on android.

And I don't have any face pictures uploaded to me account. They are sent direct from my phone.

I'd say if you're making a will, you might be able to put together a list of online accounts and app based accounts with the relevant passwords for a trustworthy executor to do with the data as you see fit after passing.

I believe this is what my parents have done. Now where is the will held and who has access to it?

The amount of idle accounts for a website like this should, in my opinion, be automatically deleted after a certain time of none-use has lapsed and email contact has been made by site owners without response.

I have a friend that died but his wife still runs his fb account by switching his profile around every now and then

I take comfort in looking at our photo's on it every now and then

He knew he was dying so shared his info with her

I was thinking the same thing. It would be great for a site like this to have an opt in setting where the account and all content is deleted after a period of inactivity. Say two years for example.

Adding requests to a Will is an interesting idea
