Oh my goodness but I've never seen anything like this before. A queue of 200 people waiting with their trolleys to get into DS.

I'm told the wait time is in excess of an hour.

Happy Christmas!!!

I got chatting to a woman who told me that she started her shopping at 7:30 this morning in DS at Blanchardstown SC and finally finished at 9:45.

Two and a half hours to do a shop.

We all go a bit mental at this time of year.

I was sent a photo from a Dunnes in cork city yesterday with huge queues lined up at every checkout. So it’s not only on the way in

Times change but people’s habits don’t, the country doesn’t close up for 2 weeks like it did in the past. Walking out of dunnes or Tesco with 10 slabs of beer and enough spirits to open a small pub

That can't all be people getting just veg though . Sounds like a lot of unprepared people too.

Madness. Get down to your local fruit and veg shop and give them a good turn.

probably doing a full shop. could do most of it earlier in week and go elsewhere for veg but it's the same every year.

I've heard people who work in retail say that the 23rd is worse than Xmas Eve - hardly anyone leaves it until then anymore, but plenty leave it till today. Fortunately, I got all mine done, so that's me, no more queuing or braving little old ladies with trollies.

Just read online that a woman queued in the butchers and when she got to the counter she took out her big pot to make sure the ham fitted that she ordered

Nothing compares to Christmas eve in my experience. The day before Christmas eve is havoc for the people in warehouses supplying shops on the other hand.
