Retail workers

This time of year is one of the worse periods for all retail workers and its especially tough with the current pandemic. Take two minutes if you are in a shop and be polite and respectful to them. You don't need to abuse them if they don't have a particular item you were looking for in stock. They didn't ruin your child's Christmas if they don't have what the kids are looking for. Just don't be a dickhead to them.

I'm always polite and respectful to staff where I am a customer. But I do feel for them with the level of entitled dickhead/Karen behaviour that seems to increasingly be the norm.

It also wasn't their decision to wait until Mary's waters actually broke before some people decided to go shopping

A lot of unsung heroes over the last 2 years

I always wonder whats wrong with people when they treat staff like that. Even over the last 2 years with the restrictions the staff haven't decided on this rules our government have.

I worked in penneys when was 16 for nearly 2 years and have to say the good outweighed the bad, it was a great laugh.

I'm always polite and respectful as a principle.

It's normally other customers that pisses me off and if they behave badly I do tell them. (I know that probably will surprise everyone on here )

Anyhow had a great experience yesterday with two retail gentlemen looking after me in the wolly jumper shop.

The way some people treat retail and service workers is appalling.

Treat them like they don't exist until you have a problem then expect them to be able to change their companies policy for you.

Somewhere in Co. Down

This is one of my biggest bug bears when people are rude to those who work in retail. And usually for things the person has zero control over as well. I've found it is usually done because they know the person can't answer them back and tell them they're being an arsehole without repercussions on them and their job.I have and will pull people who do in front of me.And seriously does anyone think yelling at staff is going to actually help if they have an issue anyhow.

I wouldnt mind but from my experience if you have a problem and you're polite if it can be sorted then it will be

If you're rude or shout it won't be

Well said, I'm not one for Christmas hate all the pushing and shoving for items do not need and then there is the waste of food. They do a great job and having to wear the mask all the time in work is a strain on anyone. I prefer Easter

It should be mandatory for everyone to work in retail at some stage, people would have a better appreciation for how difficult it can be.

And FFS, just wear the fuckin mask, it’s not a big thing to do for a few minutes while you’re in a shop, it makes life a little easier to deal with for all concerned.

You need to choose wisely though. No point wasting a good beating early only for an even more obnoxious person to come in later

Should make it too with bonus ones for people who think the back stores is a place that magically produces whatever they want

I’m choosing to interpret that as one beating per individual customer, per week.

I’m also seeking to have it predated to 2021 so I suspect some will have built up a few beatings by now.
