Getting a new TV from Santa this year!! Anyhow it's a QLED, I don't know much about it, should I replace the HD cable also or will the existing one do on my older TV work fine with it? I mean the HD cable works fine on existing TV,presume its just a case of plugging it into the new TV instead.

Thanks

You shouldn't need to replace the hdmi cable unless it's a really poor one to begin with. Might run into problems if you connect a game console and want to run on high refresh rates. Just use the old cable and see if it works

The TV will most likely have a Netflix/Amazon app anyway, more important to have a good wireless or wired connection to your router for watching streams

If the TV has 2.1 HDMI ports then it would be worth the small amount to update the cabled for the difference in picture you'd get after the cost of the TV in general

Would a new HDMI cable offer a better picture so?

In almost all situations, no. Having a better HDMI cable is usually only really required for gaming or more complex home cinema setups where a lot more data needs to go over the wire. If your hdmi cable isn't a totally flimsy one, it'll be grand.

As long as cable is HDMI 2.0 then you're good for 4K UHD from an equivalent 4K disc player.

HDMI 2.1 adds 8K compatibility and some of the gaming features like VRR, ALLM and QFT but,if not using one of the latest consoles, it's not needed for movies and the like
