It doesn’t happen very often!

But I think Yola’s version of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road is better than Elton

Any other contenders?

I think Jeff Buckley’s version is better then Leonard’s and the Futureheads’ version is better then Kate’s.

Indeed, it rarely happens. I have heard cover artists butcher the essence of the song by singing it in a style that contradicts the core of the lyrics.

But like many of you here I have heard some covers that are, in my humble opinion, superior to the original.

Yazoo was Alison Moyet, Eurythmics was Annie & Vince

Cant agree that the Flying pickets acapella version is better, not saying it was bad but Moyet's voice is unique on that entire album
