"They can protest all they want. The government will do nothing. Everything in this country is overpriced because of tax. The government aren't going to do anything that hurts their bottom line. They don't care who is suffering or struggling as long as they get their pound of flesh. Only way to get their attention is to actually storm the Dail. Put the fear of God into them. Remind them that they are elected to act in the best interests of the people not the businesses that line their pockets. " Rather than storming the Daily maybe the people should just remind at election time?

"They won't get my understanding. Blocking roads in the busiest time of the year is a shit idea, their action is impacting negatively on many other businesses today. The increase of fuel prices has affected everyone not just them, and it's not just since this autumn that we know 52% on fuel is tax. Stop voting for the same bunch of crooks would be more effective. " Pretty sure the effect of fuel increases has affected machinery and haulage more than the average joe soap. Also doing it at this time of the year is far more effective and makes more news so hence why they do it this week as opposed to a quite Sunday morning. Voting for others isn't an option at present as there is no election so they need to voice their concerns by this method and I think the majority will support them and it brings it to the attention of the decision makers. Plenty of businesses out of work due to pandemic over covid and they got financial support, what support do the haulage and farming sector get to offset the increases in their business?

We are running a big budget deficit also so we can't afford to reduce the tax burden.
